This all began when Michelle Goodburn and Kim Height took action to help the unwanted dogs in Northern Canada.
On her daily walks in the communities where Michelle worked she couldn't help but notice a lot of homeless dogs, many of them suffering from mange, malnutrition and intestinal parasites.
Her concern shifted from passive sadness to starting a rescue initiative after her first rescue came out to the woods towards her. Michelle picked up the frail puppy and from that moment she knew she had to help. This pup was only about 12 weeks old, she was starving, freezing and scared.
Michelle contacted Kim who was at home in Niagara and they discussed what could be done. It was quite the process but Piper is now part of their family and the face of Dreamers Dog Sanctuary.
They even moved to a large property in the country to start their new rescue and continue to help find homes for dogs in Northern Canada and all over the world.
